Yes, She’s Done That

Shirley’s background means she has a lot of varied experience to utilize when she works with a client. Besides her degree in journalism, she has a degree in animal science. Shirley has worked for (or with) an agricultural communications firm, several commodities firms, a manufacturer, a continuing care retirement center, and co-owned a small business with her husband that distributes valves and instrumentation.  Talk about variety, one client required that she write for 80 different B2C businesses. More About Those Stories…

An avid reader, she used to keep a flashlight under the covers as a girl so she could sneak read after her parents said it was time for “lights out.”  These days, it isn’t the latest book to hit the New York Time’s Bestseller List that catches her eye (although she still enjoys them), it is the story hidden in a business or nonprofit that begs to be told.
